COVID-19 and the CSRA

March 7: There have been no cases of COVID-19, the Chinese Coronavirus, confirmed in the Augusta area. There have been several suspected cases, but all turned out to be negative for COVID-19 and positive for another virus. In the US, the total count of infected stands at around 250, with 11 deaths, most of them elderly and infirmed people from a nursing home in Washington State. There have been less than 10 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Georgia, all in the Atlanta area, with no deaths.

March 1, 2020: There have been no cases of the new Coronavirus confirmed in the Augusta area. Several people have been evaluated for the infection in the CSRA, but nobody so far has tested positive. It is also important to point out that there have been only about 50 confirmed cases in the entire USA out of more than 400 high risk people who were tested for the disease.
